Banthor, you almost sold me on Half-Life 2. Too bad I dont play first person shooters. Or computer games.
But that ineract with everything sounds really cool. I really want someone to make a puzzle game like that. Like Ico, except every room should actually have room stuff, and you can use everything, although most can be pointless, you can still move it. Like tablecloths and candlesticks have no point, but still I wanna actually interact with everything.
That would be cool.
I'm weird.

Ah Hawk, Half Life 2 IS like that where the first game had jump puzzles you have Phyics Puzzles. i don't want to give to much away, but often they are things like creating a ramp to get to a high place, or placing turrents (which can get knocked down and set back up again) to defend a position. and the gravity gun simply "steps donkeys"! Saw blades and zombies!!! come on!! It is expccally fun at the end...

I'm playing this game right now with an underpowered videocard so it looks a lot like the first Half-Life. Man its good though.

Hey Banthor (and anyone else who would know) I am getting a new computer, and so I thought I would ask what I would need to play computer games (not that I'm going to, but I might consider FFXI) but what like graphics card and stuff do I need. Obviously I don't know anything about this and have never really played a computer game (minus Zeliard.)

I'm real happy with the card I have, the Radeon 9800 Pro. It is the latest and greatest card from a year and a half ago. I would recommend the X800 or the latest nvidia one, they go for like $400. That is just plain nuts. My car cost me $180 (from newegg.com). That is the secret: avoid retail like the plague.
My system is has a 2.6 P4, and a half a gig of ram and while it can't run Half Life TOTALY cranked, it handles the game well in the higher resolutions.

Its the slot that most video cards use now. However, some motherboards refuse to have one. Make sure you have one if you plan on ever upgrading your video card.

Actually most mother board have AGP slots, it least most that I have seen. now adays I think you would be hard pressed to find a Mother board the does NOT have an AGP slot, unless you have an Emachine or something.
In fact AGP is on it's way out there is a new tehcnology called serial PCI, which is supposed to by a LOT faster. But I would stick with AGP, of for no other reason than they are cheap

I thought the new stuff was express PCI?
But I do know that they make motherboards without AGP slots and they are actually semi-common. Better safe than sorry, ya know?
